All about Boeing and Airbus
Airbus
Airbus Industries was formally established on December 18, 1970.It had been formed by a government initiative between France, Germany and the UK that originated in 1967. Its initial shareholders were the French company Aérospatiale and the German company Deutsche Airbus, each owning a 50% share. The name "Airbus" was taken from a non-proprietary term used by the airline industry in the 1960s to refer to a commercial aircraft of a certain size and range, for this term was acceptable to the French linguistically. Airbus manufactured different sized and kinds of aircfraft from smallest to the biggest from A310, A319, A320, A300, A330, A340, A350 A321 NEO, A320 NEO , A350 TO A380.
Airbus A320
The A320 was launched in March 1984, first flew on 22 February 1987, and was first delivered in 1988. A320 family pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire flight control systems, as well as side-stick controls, in commercial aircraft.
There has been a continuous improvement process since introduction. The A320 is in widespread service around the globe on services that vary from short commuter sectors in Europe, Asia and elsewhere to trans-continental flights across the United States. the A320 Family are at the heart of Airbus’ commonality, which allows a pilot qualified on one Family member to fly. This aircraft seats 150 passengers in a typical layout, 50 more than the average narrow-body passenger plane. The maximum seating capacity is 180 passengers, in an all-economy class configuration.

The Airbus A318 is the smallest member of the Airbus A320 family of short- to medium-range, narrow-body, commercial passenger jet airliners manufactured by Airbus
The A318 carries up to 132 passengers and has a maximum range of 3,100 nmi (5,700 km; 3,600 mi).The A318 entered service in July 2003 with Frontier Airlines. The A318’s fuselage is 2.39 metres shorter than the A319. Takeoff weight choices of up to 66 metric tonnes provide airlines with greater operating flexibility and higher loads in operating the A318, with a maximum flight range of 2,800 km. The A318 accommodates 107 passengers in a typical two-class cabin configuration.
Airbus A340
The Airbus A340 is a long-range four-engine wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner. It was developed and produced by Airbus
The A340 was assembled at Toulouse, France. It seats up to 375 passengers in the standard variants and 440 in the stretched -600 series. Depending on the model, it has a range of between 6,700 to 9,000 nautical miles (12,400 to 16,700 km). It is similar in design to the twin-engined A330 with which it was concurrently designed. Its distinguishing features are four high-bypass turbofan engines and three-bogie main landing gear.
Airbus manufactured the A340 in four fuselage lengths. The initial variant, A340-300, which entered service in 1993, measured 59.39 metres (194.8 ft).
The A340 has earned its reputation as a true globe-trotter – flying some of the world’s longest and most demanding routes while providing superior operating economics
Airbus A330
The Airbus A330 is a medium wide-body twin-engine jet airliner made by Airbus. the A330 have a range of 7,400 to 13,430 kilometres (4,000 to 7,250 nmi) and can accommodate up to 335 passengers in a two-class layout or carry 70 tonnes (150,000 lb) of cargo. The A330 was developed in parallel with the four-engine A340, which shared many common airframe components but differed in number of engines. Both airliners incorporated fly-by-wire flight control technology.
A330 Family’s highly comfortable, low-noise cabin and operating commonality with the entire Airbus fly-by-wire product line. This jetliner has a range of up to 6,100 nautical miles (11,300 km.). The A330-300 benefits from demonstrated reliability, performance and unbeatable operating costs of the product line, in service to more than 400 destinations each week, with over 100 operators.
Airbus A319
As a shortened-fuselage version of Airbus’ A320 cornerstone single-aisle jetliner, the A319 continues to prove its versatility – enabling carriers around the world to benefit from the aircraft’s range options and seat layout flexibility.
In addition to the standard 124-seat configuration with a range of up to 3,740 nautical miles, Airbus offers an option with a seating capacity of up to 156 passengers – a version that is being ordered by an increasing number of low-cost airlines.
The A319 has the same optimised cabin cross-section as the other A320 Family members – which is the widest single-aisle fuselage on the market and sets the standards for passenger cabin adaptability in this segment. This allows for top-of-the-range comfort with generous seat width, or an extra-wide aisle for fast turn arounds. The A319 shares the same fly-by-wire flight controls and state-of-the-art cockpit as the other A320 Family members, profiting from the unique benefits of Airbus operational commonality
Airbus A321 Variants Neo and CEO
The bench mark of the A320 family is here the A321.
The A321 offers airline customers the best seat-mile costs of any single-aisle aircraft and seating capacities comparable to that of a widebody jetliner.
This aircraft has a stretched fuselage with an overall length of 44.51 metres, along with an extended operating range of up to 3,000 nautical miles while carrying a maximum passenger payload. Like each member in Airbus’ A320 Family of jetliners, the A321 offers the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint in its class.
The A321 typically accommodates 185 passengers in a two-class configuration (16 in first class and 169 in economy) – while offering unbeatable economics in high-density seating (with up to 220 passengers) for charter and low-cost operators. The twin-engine A321 can be powered by either of two engine options: the CFM International CFM56 or International Aero Engines’ V2500.
Airbus A320
Airbus launched its single-aisle product line with the A320, which continues to set industry standards for comfort and operating economy on short- to medium-haul routes. Typically seating 150 passengers in a two-class cabin – or up to 180 in a high-density layout for low-cost and charter flights. The A320 is in widespread service around the globe on services that vary from short commuter sectors in Europe, Asia and elsewhere to trans-continental flights across the United States. Advantages of the fly-by-wire controls which were pioneered on the A320.
The A320’s right-sized fuselage is seven inches wider than its competitors, enhancing comfort for passengers and increasing revenue opportunities for airlines. It enables choices of four-, five-, and six-abreast layouts with wider seats,
Airbus A350
The Airbus A350 XWB is a family of long-range, twin-engine wide-body jet airliners. The A350 is the first Airbus with both fuselage and wing structures made primarily of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer.
