The airline started regular its commercial flights last December 14, 2012. SkyJet Airlines is flying from Manila Domestic Airport and is the only Jet service to Coron (Palawan), Batanes (Basco), Baler (Aurora) and Boracay (Caticlan) utilizing a fleet of 80-seater British Aerospace Jet (BAe-146), This type of aircraft specializes in small airport runways due to its S.T.O.L. safety features (Short Take-off/Landing) perfect for the Philippines' island airports which cannot accommodate larger aircrafts. It recently launched its first international flight (Taipei to Boracay) route. SkyJet cancelled charter flights between Kalibo and Taipei just a week after they started.
